Over the weekend of 27th to 29th July 2018, the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress which sits above Koblenz will be buzzing with over 150 street artists, comedians, acrobats and jugglers, cabaret artists and poetry readings. The railway from Trier to Koblenz follows the river for large stretches of its length making for a very scenic journey. However, as you will see in this video, there are some stretches which will make even the strongest of us flinch with fear as the train ekes its way through some very tight spots!
I have always been fascinated by maps, and never more so than now that space-age technology beams crystal clear satellite imagery straight to my iPad. I spend literally hours ‘traveling’ the world on Google Earth, but I must admit the confluence of the Mosel and the Rhine at the Deutsches Eck (German Corner) in Koblenz never ceases to amaze me – how is it the water of the two rivers does not seem to mix?!
