German Men Sit Down to Pee and Other Insights into German Culture

I posted a review of this book some time ago, but I recently re-read it and decided it was worthy of another mention.

The book title is “German Men Sit Down To Pee And Other Insights Into German Culture”. The title says it all and the book takes a jovial look at the Germans and their often strange mannerisms.

The authors of the book are Irishman, James Cave, and a German, Niklas Frank, so the facts have been checked by a native.

Lost In Translation

We have all been to restaurants in touristy areas where the menu has some dubious translations. This one is from a nice place in my hometown, Zell, and I must admit I have never ordered either of these two dishes simply because I would not be able to keep a straight face!! I dread to think where the “cumcumbers” get inserted! So the moral of this story is, never trust Google Translate!

I mentioned in a previous blog posting a Kindle book I was reading and I promised to give an update on it once I had finished reading it so here we go…

The book is “German Men Sit Down To Pee And Other Insights Into German Culture” and as you will guess from that, it is a jovial look at the Germans and their unique ways. It is written by James Cave, a well travelled Irishman with experience of German life, and Niklas Frank, a German who is experienced in dealing with bewildered expats.
