Setting up a Business in Germany

Starting a business is a daunting prospect at the best of times, especially in a foreign country where you don’t speak the language. Worries over tax, social security, healthcare, registration, etc. put many people off even trying. Whilst the internet can offer some of the answers we need, it can also overwhelm us.

By happy chance, I found the website of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. It has lots of clear information in English relating to starting your own business. Step-by-step guides, checklists, proformas and downloadable guides are all provided to help you to set up on your own here, be it as a freelancer or something larger.
