These are two maps I recently bought which I can recommend. Both are German but that is not a huge deal as they are very clear, the keys are self explanatory, they are truly pocket sized and are made of some kind of glossy paper than is wipe clean and very durable.
The one on the right in the picture, “Mosel-Radweg”, covers the Mosel cycle way which runs along the entire length of the river from Perl which is close to the French border all the way to where it converges with the Rhine at Koblenz – 242km in fact. The route is shown with markers at every 5km from Perl making it easy to plan a ride of any length you want and the detail is excellent.
The other map covers the “Moselsteig”, which is a river trail for walkers. Like the cycle map, this one also covers the route from Perl to Koblenz and has the same handy distance markers.
The maps also have lots of tourist information on them but it is in German, although I love these maps for their clarity, detail and sheer convenience – perfect when you are cycling or walking which are the best ways to explore the region in my opinion.
You should be able to find them in bookshops, book sections of larger supermarkets in the area or tourist offices, otherwise if you want to get them online, the ISBNs and prices are as follows:
Mosel-Radweg Perl – Koblenz : ISBN-978-3-89920-198-7 price €6.95
Moselsteig Perl – Koblenz : ISBN-978-3-89929-699-9 price €8.95
Both are published by www.publicpress.de
